Weekend Reset: My Simple Sunday Routine to Set Up a Successful Week

Hey friends! 🌿

Let’s talk about something that’s become a lifesaver in my wellness journey: my Sunday reset routine. I don’t know about you, but before I started this, I used to feel like Monday hit me like a freight train. 😅 The weeks blurred together, and I was constantly playing catch-up.

Now? Sundays are my sacred pause button. They help me regroup, reflect, and set myself up to actually feel on top of things for the week ahead. And spoiler—it doesn’t have to be complicated or take hours of your day.

Today, I’m sharing the simple routine I follow that keeps me feeling grounded and ready to take on whatever life (and my EMS schedule!) throws at me. ✨

Step 1️⃣ Morning Slow Down 🌞

I try to let Sunday mornings feel a little slower and more mindful. No alarms (if possible 🙌), a cup of coffee with collagen, and either reading or journaling before I touch my phone or to-do list.

This reminds me: I am a human being, not just a human doing. 💛

Step 2️⃣ Planner + Brain Dump 📝

Next up: I grab my planner and do a full brain dump—everything swirling in my head, from errands to appointments to random ideas.

Then I:
✅ Review the upcoming week’s schedule
✅ Highlight priorities (the must-dos)
✅ Break down any big tasks into smaller steps

This helps me see the big picture without feeling overwhelmed.

Step 3️⃣ Meal & Snack Prep 🥗

I don’t go overboard with meal prep, but I plan and prep 2–3 easy things that make my life way easier during busy shifts. Things like:

  • Chopping veggies

  • Cooking a batch of rice or quinoa

  • Prepping snack bags with nuts, fruit, or protein bars

Even a little prep = huge time and stress saver midweek!

Step 4️⃣ Reset the Space 🧺

A cluttered space = a cluttered mind (at least for me!). Part of my Sunday reset is doing:

  • A quick tidy of my main living spaces

  • Washing my sheets & towels

  • Wiping down surfaces

It doesn’t have to be deep cleaning—just enough to feel fresh for a new week.

Step 5️⃣ Body & Soul Care 💆‍♀️

I love to end my reset with something that feels nourishing:
✨ A long shower or bath
✨ Skincare + maybe a face mask
✨ 10–15 minutes of stretching
✨ Reading something uplifting

This is my way of saying: “I’ve got you” to myself. 💛

Why This Works for Me

This routine keeps me grounded because it blends practical prep with emotional self-care. It’s not just about ticking boxes—it’s about creating a rhythm that feels supportive, not stressful.

And here’s the thing: it’s flexible. Some Sundays are fuller resets; others are mini versions. It’s about progress, not perfection.

Erin
