The Beginning of My Journey: Embracing Wellness

Hey there, friend! I’m so excited to finally share my journey with you — my ups, my downs, and everything in between. Grab a cozy drink, settle in, and let’s chat!

So, a little about me: I’m a 30-year-old married gal, living with my best friend (yes, my husband) and our two adorable dogs, Gracie and Kiki. Life has thrown a lot my way, and for a while, it felt like I was just going through the motions — getting up, going to work, and then crashing on the couch. Oh, and my house? Let’s just say it looked like a tornado had hit it. I was stuck in this cycle of feeling unfulfilled and constantly battling thoughts like, “Is this really all there is to life?”

Every time I tried to dive into a new diet or fitness routine, I’d last a few days, maybe a week — if I was lucky — before I’d revert back to my old habits. I thought it had to be an all-or-nothing deal, and when I failed, it felt like a complete loss. Sound familiar?

Then, one night while I was lying in bed, I finally had enough. I was tired of feeling this way. I had this lightbulb moment: what if I just started with one small step? I figured I could manage that. So, I decided to stop hitting snooze. I know, it sounds simple, right? But let me tell you, this one tiny habit rocked my world!

That little change sparked something in me. It was like I discovered a key to my own life. I began to build on that single habit, and it opened the door to a healthier lifestyle. I wanted to share this with you because I remember how lost I felt, not knowing where to start or what to do.

Now, let me backtrack a bit. After getting married in 2021, my husband and I moved halfway across the country, leaving our families behind. I thought a change of scenery would magically fix everything. Spoiler alert: it didn’t! If only it were that simple. I still struggled with anxiety and depression, and I was still that shy girl who felt out of place.

But here’s the thing: finding a place that felt like home was just the beginning. I realized I had to take charge of my own happiness and well-being. That’s when I decided to share my journey with you. I want this space to be a safe haven where you can learn from my experiences — my mistakes, my triumphs, and everything in between — so you don’t have to navigate this path alone.

And I genuinely hope that you will take something from this. You don’t have to know exactly what you’re doing to start making the life of your dreams happen. Here’s the thing: I was always waiting for the right time, the perfect moment. But it doesn’t happen like that. You have to create that moment yourself.

Now, I’m not saying it’s easy — trust me, I know it’s not. But I will tell you that the hard work is worth it. I’ve finally found my passion, and I’m happy in my own skin — at least most of the time! And you can, too. I’m not perfect, and I’m definitely still learning along the way.

My hope is to create a community here — a space where we don’t judge, where we embrace each other and build each other up. The road can be tough, but finding your community, those people who truly understand what you’re feeling and experiencing, makes it just a little bit easier. Sometimes, it’s just one thing someone else says that clicks in your mind and makes all the difference for you.
